Guan Shanyue Art Museum is a national public welfare cultural institution named after Guan Shanyue, a famous Chinese painter, educator and master of Lingnan School of Painting. It is a national public welfare cultural institution fully funded by the government. It is characterized by the collection and research of Guan Shanyue and his works of 20th century Chinese art. It has all the functions of a national art museum. The foundation stone was laid in January 1995 and it was completed and opened on June 25, 1997, the eve of Hong Kong's return to China. It is located in the central area of Futian, Shenzhen, with the beautiful Lianhua Mountain to the north and the Municipal Square to the south.
